Dear Prayer Partners of SRS,

Last Saturday Cathy hosted her first video fellowship on Skype.   The women of Joy Presbyterian Church of Karaganda, Kazakhstan lead by Saule, Pastor Jenya's wife, gathered to study Proverbs 31 with Cathy.  

Wise women from the East (a Muslim country) have seen the star (of His word), and have come to worship Him! Matthew 2:2

Saule and Jenya are working to start a Christian school in Karaganda, or to begin homeschooling, which currently is not legal in Kazakhstan.  They are following the lead of our St. Petersburg church, which now has 2 families that have taken children out of public schools in order to raise them in a more biblical environment. As their children are growing up the parents are facing the reality that, “he who walks with wise men, becomes wise...” Proverbs 13:20.

Cathy and I hope to be able to travel to Karaganda to do a seminar on the Christ-centered home.  Additionally, we have been invited to Riga, Latvia, to do the same thing with pastor Timur and his wife Katherine.  Pray that the Lord will open a way for these much-needed trips to take place soon.

Also, please pray for us to be able to bring together the 15 pastors from around the former Soviet Union for the Spring Intensive Course, March 7-21.  Jack Phelps, Gregg Strawbridge, and I are slated to be teaching on church leadership, the Pastoral Epistles, and the theology of church music.
