Make Russia Your Highest Missions Priority in 2018
You may already know Russia for its ballet, great nesting dolls, and museums.
And you may personally know Rev. Blake Purcell who labored almost thirty years as a Christian missionary among Russian-speaking people of the former Soviet Union, and whose work God has blessed with 5 church plants, a seminary and a ministry residence that welcomes Christians and seekers.
But you may not know the...
TOP THREE REASONS for making RUSSIA your MISSIONS PRIORITY in 2018
The Russian-speaking language group is the largest unreached language group in the world among whom Evangelical Churches can safely and legally be planted.
Russia unlike other unreached countries allows evangelical churches to be planted. Here is SRS Pastor Ruslan's new building in the Far East. SRS donors gave $70,000 to build the building.
For the Son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost.
Russia is one of the world’s most powerful and influential countries, which gives the Russian people great potential for reaching their unreached neighbors for Christ.
Russian-speaking people include 80 million, mostly nominal, Muslims that are more open to the Gospel. When they come to Christ their influence can spread to the south touching Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran.
By planting Gospel preaching churches in the Russian world we are doing the only thing that makes true long term peace in and with Russia.
For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem...and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore. Micah 4:2,3
Incredible growth and opportunities for a continent-wide spread of the gospel through the SRS movement and the Presbyterian Church of Eurasia.
The Slavic Reformation Society has trained Russian-speaking nationals who are planting 20 churches in 4 countries across 9 time zones. (Pictured: Rev. Brian Nolder teaching seminary students in October)
The 20 church plants have over 600 members total from Latvia to Kavalerovo and Romanovka in Far East Russia.
We have more pastors from more cities and churches in training now that ever before.
Do not say there are four months and then comes harvest. Lift up your eyes and see how the fields are already white unto harvest!
How to Make Russia Your Top Missions Priority in 2018
We are asking the Lord to provide $400,000 by March, 2018. This will include:
$200,000 for a year's support for our 5 church plants
$50,000 for a down payment for purchasing an SRS facility in St. Petersburg
$100,000 for the seminary for the year
$50,000 for seminary and support staff in Russia and America
Pray with us for the Lord to move hearts to see this $400,000 be given so that the 250 million unreached souls in the Russian-speaking world have a Gospel-preaching church planted and rooted near them in the next 3 years.
