Kazan became a part of Russia in 1552 when Ivan the Terrible conquered the city from the Tatars. Kazan is located on the Volga River 500 miles from Moscow and is one of the most beautiful cities of Russian with a population of more than one million people. Most ethnic Tatars are Muslims, making Kazan the capital of the Muslim world in Russia.
The Reformed Church of Kazan has 25 members and was founded by pastor Valeri Kevorkyanz in 2004. Pastor Valeri passed away in September 2016. The church remained without a leader and expressed a desire to join the Eurasia Presbytery. At present Vladislav Larionov, ruling elder, leads the church. The church rents a basement in a big Charismatic church called “Free Biblical church”.
